A newsletter or newsette is a regularly distributed publication that is generally about one main topic of interest to its subscribers.  Newsletters help inform readers and get people interested on a company or organization. They serve as a medium to announce upcoming events and updates, and they reach a wide range of people via different mode of transmission. Newsletters should always up to date, and they are intended to be a great source of information, the content of which includes timely and brief information.

  • 1976-1990 - In UAP, a newsletter was first introduced in Year 1976 named "UAP Bulletin" (during the term of Arch. Jose V. Herrera). In year 1980, a mini-newsletter was published named "Newsbits" under the administration of Arch. Felipe M. Mendoza but was renamed as "UAP News" in year 1982. The term of Arch. Angel Lazaro Jr. saw the birth of "UAP Post" as the official newsletter but was institutionalized as the UAP Official News Publication during the term of Arch. Richeto C. Alcordo.

  • 1992  - To bring the national administration closer to the members, then Secretary General Arch. Prosperidad C. Luis (during the term of Arch. Jaime C. Marquez) edited a monthly newsletter named "The Month That Was", which was formatted as a personal note "from the desk of the national president, for everyone's eyes only". The newsletter would have 24 releases, from its first issue in July of 1992 to its last in June of 1994. The UAP Post, on the other hand, remained the official publication of the UAP.

  • 1998 - During the term of UAP National President Arch. Yolanda David Reyes, UAP Secretary General Arch. Edric Marco C. Florentino  envisioned to publish a Monthly Newsletter to provide relevant and updated information and reports on  activities, projects and programs as well as notices or circular of the United Architects of the Philippines for the information of the general membership. The newsletter named "UAP Keeping You Posted" came off the press on August 1, 1998 resulting from commitment of Architect Florentino to produce an information guide that is simple, easy to read and readily available to members.

  • In the UAP History Book, it was mentioned that

    • A new addition to the informative documents about UAP was the newsletter Keeping You Posted, which was religiously released by Secretary General Edric Marco Florentino. (Page 179 of the UAP History Book)

  • 2003 - During the term of UAP National President Arch. Robert S. Sac, UAP Secretary General Arch. Medeliano T. Roldan, Jr. initiated the publication of UAP Newsletter named "UAP News Bulletin". The Sponsorship Speech of Senator Aquilino Q. Pimentel, Jr. for the sponsoring Committee Report No. 351 on Senate Bill No. 2710 entitled "The Architecture Act of 2003" was first published in the November 2003 issue of UAP News Bulletin. Senator Pimentel urged his fellow senators the urgent need to immediately pass the said bill, which later became Republic Act No. 9266, otherwise known as "The Architecture Act of 2004".

  • 2004 - The January 31, 2004 issue of UAP News Bulletin highlighted the Memorandum of Agreement signed by the Professional Regulation Commission, Commission on Higher Education and the United Architects of the Philippines for the joint implementation of the APEC Architect Project in the Philippines.

  • 2005 - When Architect Florentino was elected UAP National President in Year 2005, he instructed then Secretary General Arch. Gil C. Evasco to revive the "UAP Keeping You Posted". Architect Florentino envisioned the "UAP Keeping You Posted" this time to inspire chapters and members on their active participation and deep commitment to the organization by providing a digest of updated information, news and features from the UAP National, its standing commissions and committees, and from the chapters. The newly-formatted monthly "UAP Keeping You Posted" was published on July 31, 2005.

  • 2007 - The term of UAP National President Medeliano T. Roldan, Jr. saw the birth of two newsletters named  "UAP Correspondence" during his first term and "Rallos Chronicle" on his second term. The maiden issue of "Rallos Chronicle" the banner story highlighted 2008 PRC Most Outstanding APO Award received by the United Architects of the Philippines, the first and only APO to receive the Most Outstanding APO Award thrice (Years 2002, 2007, 2008) in the award’s fourteen-year history, and the only APO to win the award in consecutive years (Year 2007 and Year 2008).

  • Current Fiscal Year - Because newsletter remains to be the most familiar, intimate, direct and effective way to communicate with the general membership, UAP National President Arch. Guillermo H. Hisancha tasked Secretary General Arch. Renato A. Heray to craft mechanism on how to deliver effective and efficient communication ot the general membership. Architect Heray initiated the revival of "Keeping You Posted", and with the advent of modern technologies (it is no doubt that the Internet and the social media are powerful means to create and share value online and one of the few effective methods to start the "conversations"), the Keeping You Posted Online was released last August 12, 2016 through social media (Facebook), and website (www.uapkyponline.tk, at no cost to UAP) as part of the commitment of the Office of the Secretary General to serve the general membership through the effective use of information and communication technologies.
