UAP pays courtesy call to Bureau of Fire Protection head
QUEZON CITY - As part of its stakeholder engagement and advocacy work, the United Architects of the Philippines through UAP Committee on Fire & Construction Safety under the leadership of Arch. Ferdinand "BANGER" Estepa, fsp, uap, made a courtesy call to newly-designated Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Chief Supt. Bobby V. Baruelo last September 9, 2016 at Bureau of Fire Protection National Headquarters, Agham Road, Diliman, Quezon City.
Aside from Architect Estepa, the courtesy visit was also attended by UAP Secretary General, Arch. Renato A. Heray, Members of the Committee: Architects Karlo Mamiit, Melba Benavides, Raymond Co and Rachelle Aresgado.
The Committee presented some of its proposals and projects for the Fiscal Year 2016-2017, to wit: (1) the proposal on the lifting of MEMORANDUM HOLD ORDER on the implementation of FALAR (Fire And Life Assessment Report) by the late DILG Secretary Jessie Robredo, (2) Continuation of UAP's Fire Safety Practitioner Course with BFP as partner, (3) Possible deputization of UAP Architect graduates of FSP course as Fire Safety Inspectors and Fire volunteers, (4) UAP Chapters Nationwide simultaneous celebration of BFP's "WALK FOR A CAUSE" every March 1st of every year, (5) UAP Architects initiative in partnering with BFP on the regular holding of FIRE & EARTHQUAKE DRILLS with the public especially on the structures the architects designed, and (6) Regular consultations between UAP & BFP on possible projects to benefit the public regarding fire safety.
With the said proposals, the Committee is hoping to maintain and nurture the good rapport between UAP and BFP as partners in fire prevention, protection as well as nation building.
