UAP Emergency Architects, MRTC sign MOA on disaster resilience
The United Architects of the Philippines Emergency Architects (UAP-EA) signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Mannage Resources Trading Corp. (MRTC) jointly advocating disaster resilience and preparedness in local communities prone to natural calamities.
In partnering with UAP-EA, MRTC will assist the group in post-disaster damage assessment, reconstruction or relocation and capacity building for disaster preparedness. Chairperson Architect Stephanie Gilles signed on behalf of the UAP Emergency Architects while MRTC President Mr. Lawrence Sy on behalf of the company. According to Chairperson Gilles, “the MOA intends for a year-long program of training and capacity building for skilled workers on disaster resilient construction”.
“A milestone in UAP-EA 's collaboration with a private firm towards disaster preparedness”, Architect Gilles added. Witnessing the signing were Architects Jose Miranda, UAP-EA Deputy Chair and Calixto Kamantigue Jr. for UAP-EA and Mr. Junie Pama and Ms. Marilet Catapang for MRTC.
