UAP Balangkasan: Graduate Competencies for a Future Filipino Global Architect

The United Architects of the Philippines – Committee on Balangkasan under the leadership of its chairman, Arch. Sylvester Shaun David Seno held the first ever Region-wide BALANGKASAN FOR ACADEME ARCHITECTS last November 10, 2016 at De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) 5th Floor Theater SDA Building along Ocampo Street (formerly Vito Cruz St.), Malate, Manila.

Entitled “GRADUATE COMPETENCIES FOR A FUTURE FILIPINO GLOBAL ARCHITECT,” the said forum aimed to gather both academe architects and industry practitioners in the context of enhancing the BS Architecture Program and Educational system in the context of globalization (ASEAN and APEC/GATS integration). The said event was in partnership project of the UAP National Committee for Balangkasan FY1617, with the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB), and the Council of Deans and Heads of Architecture Schools of the Philippines (CODHASP), with the support of the UAP Commission on Education thru its Committee on Research and Academic Institutions and UAP Commission on Professional Practice.

The outcome of the said forum, in the form of a joint resolution outlining the specific Plan-of-Action (POA) mutually approved by all parties concerned, will be formally endorsed by the committee to the UAP National Board of Directors, the CODHASP and the UAP-Committee on Research and Academic Institutions for the next Architects in the Academe Assembly (AAA) next year
