UAP, thru the UAP MAGS chapter, in partnership with RIBA-USA, receives the International DIVERSIT
Congratulations to the UNITED ARCHITECTS OF THE PHILIPPINES (UAP) in partnership with ROYAL INSTITUTE OF BRITISH ARCHITECTS (RIBA)-USA Region, for coveting the DIVERSITY ACADEMY AWARD (International Category), and again, the first international recognition based from mutual collaboration, in UAP's history! Awarding was held at The Alchemical Theatre, NY, USA last November 3-4, 2016. DIVERSITY AND ACADEMY AWARDS (formerly DANDI) honors communities and organizations who have shown excellent and sustained commitment to diversity, inclusion and social justice. Past and present sponsors for this prestigious award include: Cornell University, NASCAR, DIAGEO, The New York Times, UBER, SiriusXM, among others.
The focal point of the entry submitted by the UAP and RIBA-USA was the UAP NATCON42 DAY 3: "Diversity and Inclusion Talks" during the UAP NATCON42 last April 23, 2016 which included the following speakers: PIA Chancellor Ar. Ramon Zaragoza, FPIA, APEC-star SALTLamp Engineer Aisa Mijeno, Ar. Lira Luis, riba, aia, ncarb,cem from AIA Specialty Council and Dr. James Karl Fischer, friba, ies from Zoological Lighting Institute.
This DAY 3 Symposium (under then UAP NATCON42 Director Ar. Catherine Balce-Carunungan, fuap,aa) was a crystallization of a two-year collaboration of UAP MAGS initiated by then Immediate Past Chapter President Arch Sylvester Seno, with the UAP Committee on National and Civic Affairs Chair Arch Tessa Espinas in partnership with RIBA-USA which commenced last LEAPFROG International Symposium held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines-Manila last November 2014 during the first year anniversary of Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda).
