First UAP Inter- Regional Balangkasan for Government Architects held
The UAP COMMITTEE ON BALANGKASAN in coordination with UAP REGIONAL DISTRICT A5 (composed of RIZAL TAYTAY, PASIG, MARIKINA VALLEY, SAN JUAN MANDALUYONG, GREENHILLS, RIZAL EAST, RIZAL KALAYAAN 100, RIZAL CAINTA 101, SAN JUAN PINAGLABANAN, UAP CAL 116 and SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA Chapters) and UAP MANILA ARCHITECTS FOR GOVERNMENT SERVICE (MAGS) Chapter, with the participation of UAP Committee on Government Services (under the UAP Commission on Professional Practice) and UAP Regional District B2, held the First UAP Inter-Regional Balangkasan For Government Architects last December 6, 2016 at Events Center, CW Home Depot, Pasong Tamo, Makati City.
In his introduction, District A5 Director, Arch. Rosario Q. Roxas said that “to ensure that the government architect positions survive, it is crucial that government architects work together to provide unequivocal evidence of the value that they have delivered in enhancing the quality of public architecture and civic space. Despite the many gains made through the leadership of some of our colleagues in the government, it is necessary that a breadth of informed advocacy is necessary to ensure that the government architect positions are regarded as essential to the shaping of objectives and policies related to the built environment across the nation.”
Invited resource speakers were: Ms. Eva F. Olmedillo, Director II, Civil Service Commission (Manila Field Office) representing the Civil Service Commission; Arch. Domingo Ll. Tablizo, Jr., NBI Employees Association (NBIEA) President and Chief of Construction Management of the National Bureau of Investigation representing the Architects Working in the Government; Honorable Councilor Cherilyn Pablo Santos, Chair of the Committee on Environment and Urban Planning of the Mandaluyong City Council representing the LGUs; and Arch. Rebecca M. Peñafiel, Director III of the Health Facility Development Bureau of the DOH, representing the Government Architects dealing with Department of Budget and Management
