10 New Filipino ASEAN Architect Conferred
PARANAQUE CITY – Ten distinguished Filipino architects have been accepted into the ASEAN Architect Registry and were conferred the title ASEAN Architects during the Third Conferment Ceremony held at City of Dreams Manila last December 9, 2016. The new ASEAN Architects are: Architects Annette F. Gaddi-Liganor, Jose Mari A. Canizares, Ramon N. Vios, Jr., Ma. Concepcion S. Dy, Marie Stephanie Magdalena, Cecilia R. Cayman-Gamana, Geraldine S. Uy, Francisco C. Noel, Donato B. Magcale, and Robert S. Sac.
According to ASEAN Monitoring Committee on Architectural Services of the Philippines or AMCASP, Filipino architects are being encouraged to apply for international certification for mutual recognition in line with the ASEAN Economic Community which transform ASEAN into a single market and production base. The economic integration includes free professional movement among members, allowing ASEAN Architects to engage in a “borderless” practice.
